WCAN Coaches:
Kevin Raab - Head Coach
Head Coach Kevin Raab joined WCAN after starting Arsenal Aquatic Club
in 2009, and is the current Varsity Head Water Polo Coach of Granada
High School. In addition, Kevin coached the Benicia Stingrays for the
past three years, where they broke more than 30 team records. Kevin’s
coaching history includes coaching US Swimming, summer rec teams,
High School Swimming, and club and High School Water Polo. Kevin
has coached High School All-Americans in both Swimming and Water
Polo, and many of his former athletes are currently competing at the
Collegiate level.
Kevin’s strengths include strong technical instruction, leadership and organizational skills. Kevin’s aquatic background includes experiences
at De La Salle in Concord, where he was a high school swimmer for the
1997 NCS Champions and played water polo. He then graduated from
the University of Maryland. Some of Kevin’s other accomplishments
include Santa Clara International Finalist, ACC finalist, and set a US
Masters National Record. Kevin’s favorite movie is Fletch.
Katie Clark
Katie has been involved in the swimming community for the last 20
years and began as an age group swimmer herself at 8 years old. After swimming and then continuing to play water polo through high school and college, she returned to her hometown of San Diego, California. While teaching swim lessons and managing a swim lesson program, she also began coaching swimming and water polo at the high school and age
group level as well as coaching a
Masters Swim Team.
Following a brief reprieve from aquatics to focus on a career in marketing,
Katie moved to the Napa Valley in April, 2009 and is completing her
teaching credential at the elementary and secondary levels. She began coaching with Wine Country Aquatics in August, 2008 and is excited to continue the development of each swimmer and overall growth of the team.
Jennifer Bunker
Jennifer Bunker has been with Wine Country Aquatics of Napa as an
assistant coach on and off for the past 10 years. Coach Jen began
swimming competitively at the age of seven. She was a member of
the Napa Valley Swim Team for 10 years and the Sonoma Sea Dragons
for one. She was also a member of Vintage High School’s undefeated
MEL championship swim team from 1991-1995. She then went on to
swim for Pepperdine University.
Jen has been an elementary school teacher with the Napa Valley
Unified School District for 11 years. She has been teaching and
coaching swimming at all levels for the past 20 years. When Coach
Jen is not in the classroom or on the pool deck, she spends her time
being a mom to her two beautiful children and a wife to her amazing
husband!
Kristi Raab
Coach Kristi has spent the last three years coaching for The Benicia
Stingrays and Arsenal Aquatic Club, and is the assistant Water Polo
Coach at Granada High School. Kristi has been a High School PE
teacher for the past 8 years. In addition to Swimming she has also
coached water polo, soccer and volleyball. In High School Kristi
played Soccer and swam for her High School team. Kristi graduated
from San Diego State University. Kristi loves sushi and Starbucks,
and her favorite color is pink and she believes 'Hard work always
pays off.'
